If yes, then Ventura'12 is for you.
Started out as an intra NIT- Trichy business plan competition in the year 2005, Ventura has clinched the title of being one of the largest Business Plan Competitions in India in terms of participation and prize money. Ventura has the distinction of having established a plan into a self-supported business in its very first year through the incubation support provided by the sponsors, TREC - STEP and Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India. Organized by the Entrepreneurship Cell of NIT Trichy, Ventura aims at being the breeding house of successful entrepreneurs by bringing out the latent potential of young students. Not only do we show you the doors of opportunity but we also equip you to walk through it.
And in this edition, we have much to offer:
Cash prize of 4 lakhs INR for the winners.
Incubation support of up to 1 crore INR for each of the finalists.
Cognizance awards for socially and environmentally relevant entries.
Special recognition for technical innovation.
Exclusive mentoring by a 100 member strong Mentor Network .
Event Format
ROUND 1: ONLINE SUBMISSION OF EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
All teams will be required to submit an executive summary of their plans on or before 20th November 2011. The plans can be uploaded after registrations on the site or can be mailed to ventura12@ecell-nitt.org.
The top 5% of the plans automatically go into the mentoring round. The bottom 45% get eliminated while the remaining 50% undergo a ONE WEEK MENTORING, where the team will be put in touch with a mentor, and required to quickly improve the basics of their plans. The teams which get selected in this round will go into the next Mentoring Round.
ROUND 2: MENTORING PROCESS
The second round consists of an intense 50-60 days mentoring, with mentors assigned to each team based on their requirement and plan. The team is required to stay in touch with their mentor constantly. Based on the feedback from the mentors, and a further shortlisting by an eminent panel of judges, the teams again get shortlisted and go into final round of the competition.
ROUND 3: FINAL PRESENTATION
The final round of Ventura will take place on the NIT-Trichy campus, in 2012. It consists of a detailed presentation of the business idea to Venture Capitalists, and judges, who will review it in detail.
