Dates: It is with pleasure that we announce The Al Gore Sustainable Technology Venture Competition, 2011, September 22 -25, 2011 at IIT Madras. Collaborators this year are the Centre for Entrpreneurship and Innovation (CEI) at IIM Calcutta, TiE and the Indo-German Centre for Sustainability, IIT Madras.

The Al Gore Sustainable Technology Venture Competition™ is Asia's first and most prestigious sustainable/cleantech venture competition and has had India's flagship institutions.


Last year's competition was held with resounding success at IIT Madras from the 29th September to 3rd 2010. The Al Gore Sustainable Technology Venture Competition™ has galvanized India's brightest and most innovative youth of our country to conceptualize, design, and develop innovative technology solutions for tackling challenges such as climate change, energy security, and large scale environmental problems.


The winners ofThe Al Gore Sustainable Technology Venture Competition™ 2009 have gone on to found a company with VC funding worth $2.1 million. Participants of the earlier editions of the competition have gone on to win several laurels at other internationally reputed B-Plan competitions including the first 'Next Idea' Prize from New York City and the prestigious WagonR Think Big Challenge Competition to name a few.
